Alternative Nation can report that Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder was set to be interviewed by Howard Stern back in March for the first time ever, but sadly the interview had to be pushed back, as it was meant to coincide with Pearl Jam’s Apollo Theater show in New York, which was canceled due to the worldwide pandemic. Fans would have to expect the interview to finally happen once Pearl Jam return to New York in 2021, as long as live concerts do return.

Stern has interviewed some of the biggest names of the 90’s rock scene, including Billy Corgan, Chris Cornell, Scott Weiland, Perry Farrell, and Gavin Rossdale, but an interview with Vedder has always eluded him, despite frequently praising Pearl Jam on his show over the last 29 years.

Stern is a huge fan of the 90’s Grunge scene, with Scott Weiland becoming such a frequent guest that he even called him from jail in 2000, while Billy Corgan has made annual appearances in the last few years, even giving Stern one of The Smashing Pumpkins’ first reunion performances with James Iha in 2018.

Pearl Jam released their new album Gigaton earlier this year, but they were forced to push back their 2020 touring plans in North America and Europe due to the worldwide pandemic. Pearl Jam were also rumored to perform on Saturday Night Live to promote the album. Eddie Vedder recently joined Instagram, and called out fraud.
