Eddie Vedder joins Green Day at Ohana

Eddie Vedder joined the legendary Green Day onstage to close quite possibly his biggest Ohana Festival yet in Dana Point, California. The weekend kicked off with Vedder and Kings of Leon on Friday playing their 90’s and 2000’s classics respectively, followed by Hozier and Leon Bridges bringing a modern flavor on Saturday, and Green Day and Cage The Elephant’s frenetic rock and roll sets on Sunday to close out the fest.

Green Day kicked off their set in front of what looked to be the biggest crowd in Ohana history, and Billie Joe Armstrong truly has not aged a day, showing no signs of slowing down as Green Day brought the hits early including “Holiday” and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams.” Billie Joe Armstrong jokingly said he’d be going skinny dipping after the performance, and gave a shout out to many Orange County cities, including Huntington Beach and Anaheim.

Billie Joe dedicated “Welcome to Paradise” to Eddie Vedder, and Vedder later came out onstage to join Green Day as they close their set with “Good Ridance (Time of Your Life).” Vedder joined multiple legends onstage this weekend, including introducing Kim Deal onstage by saying he likes his legends alive. We agree Eddie, we like our legends alive too, and it was a pleasure to watch them perform at Ohana.
