PearlJamOnline reports that a never before heard Eddie Vedder track has newly surfaced. The track – called “That Lonesome Road” – is a James Taylor cover recorded by Vedder in 2003 and featured as a ghost track on the record Memento Mori by Stickfigure, former Chicago White Sox pitcher Jack McDowell’s band.
Pearl Jam fans on the Ten Club forums are discussing where you can hear the song.
Lyrics:
Walk down that lonesome road
All by yourself
Don’t turn your head
Back over your shoulder
And only stop to rest yourself
When the silver moon
Is flying high above the trees
All by yourself
Don’t turn your head
Back over your shoulder
And only stop to rest yourself
When the silver moon
Is flying high above the trees
If I had stopped to listen once or twice
If I had closed my mouth and opened my eyes
If I had cooled my head and warmed my heart
I’d not be on this road tonight
If I had closed my mouth and opened my eyes
If I had cooled my head and warmed my heart
I’d not be on this road tonight
Carry on
Never start feeling sorry for yourself
It doesn’t save you from your troubled mind
It doesn’t save you from your troubled mind
Walk down that lonesome road
All by yourself
Don’t turn your head
Back over your shoulder
And only stop to rest yourself
When the silver moon
Is flying high above the trees
All by yourself
Don’t turn your head
Back over your shoulder
And only stop to rest yourself
When the silver moon
Is flying high above the trees
