Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder is certainly having a remarkable year on the charts. Earlier in 2024, the band returned with their new album Dark Matter, which has produced several successful singles.

Eddie Vedder earns biggest solo hit

It has come to light that as the group continues to climb on several rankings with their latest smash, “Wreckage,” the band’s lead singer earns his biggest solo hit ever on one tally.

Eddie Vedder debuts his latest solo track “Save It For Later” on one Billboard chart this week. The tune opens at No. 3 on the Rock Digital Song Sales ranking, which lists the bestselling rock-only tunes in America.

“Save It For Later” instantly becomes his biggest win and first solo top 10 on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart as it debuts. He has managed to score seven total appearances on the tally on his own, but before this week, none of them had reached the highest tier.

Before the arrival of “Save It For Later,” Vedder’s peak position on the purchase-only roster was No. 11. Two tracks by the singer-songwriter stalled in that spot, just one rung below the top 10. Both “My City Of Ruins (Live From The Kennedy Center Honors)” and “Imagine” missed out on the highest tier by a single space.

It has been noted that “Save It For Later” is a cover of a song of the same name originally by The English Beat. The tune was recorded for the latest season of Hulu’s hit show The Bear, which premiered on the streamer recently.

Vedder, who recently had some health issues, has landed the top debut on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart this week. The only other arrival is also a cover, as Machine Gun Kelly’s “Sun To Me,” his reworking of Zach Bryan’s track, opens at No. 6.

The Rock Digital Song Sales chart further features several returning wins this frame. Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.” appears at No. 5, landing the highest-ranking comeback. Nickelback also manages to see three of their smashes find their way back, including “Rockstar” (No. 7), “How You Remind Me” (No. 8), and “Photograph” (No. 13).

As a member of Pearl Jam, Vedder has earned four top 10 hits on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart. Recently, “Dark Matter” peaked at No. 8 on the tally. The band has scored 13 total placements on the list.
