Slash surprised fans and rock fans alike at a private New York show this week by delivering a truly eclectic, star-studded set that spanned decades and genres. The Guns N’ Roses guitarist performed at Garcia’s at the Capitol Theatre on Dec. 11, 2025, bringing out a lineup of guests that included Yungblud, Bruno Mars, Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam, and more for a covers-heavy show.
The performance was reportedly organized as a private event and featured Slash’s band — billed as “The Dirty Bats,” with core players Duff McKagan, Chad Smith and Andrew Watt — alongside a series of high-profile vocalists. The evening opened with Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs,” featuring Yungblud, whose recent work includes a well-received Black Sabbath cover and Grammy buzz.
Brandi Carlile joined the group for renditions of Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog” and her own “The Story,” while Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis powered through covers like Motorhead’s “Ace of Spades” and Iggy and the Stooges’ “Search and Destroy.” Vedder took the mic for Pearl Jam staples such as “Better Man” and “Wishlist,” and Bruno Mars added pop flair with performances of Police’s “Roxanne,” Jimi Hendrix’s “Fire,” Michael Jackson’s “Dirty Diana” and even Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”
The night closed with all the guest vocalists joining Slash for Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode,” completing a run that underscored Slash’s love for classic rock and his ability to bridge generations of artists. The Loudwire article also notes that after spending much of 2025 playing stadium shows with Guns N’ Roses, Slash and the band are extending their touring into 2026 with planned North American stops and new single releases, including “Nothin’” and “Atlas.”
This one-off event gave fans a rare look at the guitarist’s range and friendships across the music world, blending heavy rock heritage with contemporary voices in unexpected but thrilling ways.
