Former Smashing Pumpkins and Hole bassist Melissa auf der Maur has announced her return to the stage.

She wrote, “Greetings from the Solar Powered Industrial Factory on the Hudson River – It’s our first Benefit Concert since Pioneering People honoring Courtney Love 2018! This year we are raising funds and awareness for BASILICA GREEN our critical and expanding program demonstrating Basilica’s mission to increase climate action through arts and culture programming. SEPTEMBER 10, 2022!

Fellow Montreal and four stringer player @foonbeck is co-presenting with @pathway2paris, a global climate action group, harnessing the power of art and music to inspire action. My two cities, Montreal x Hudson will merge in spirit for the night, offerings wild range of sounds, from free jazz, to mother and son tabla + sitar team, poetry, cello and piano —- if you are dreaming of coming to the Hudson Valley and celebrate art x action for our shared planet, this is you moment! Link in bio for tickets.

I will also be performing some spoken word at the BASILICA GREEN Benefit Concert. An evening of collective performance and conversation featuring Melissa Auf der Maur (@xmadmx), CAConrad (@caconrad88), Devesh and Veena Chandra (@deveshchandra & @veenachandra_official), Rebecca Foon (@foonbeck), Jim Krewson (@jimkrewson), Rudy Shepherd (@rudyshepherd), Jesse Paris Smith (@michiganmanhattan), TROUBLE (@diamondterrifier & @lauraparis.trouble), and Patrick Watson (@patrickwatsonofficial) to benefit Basilica Hudson’s efforts to increase climate action through arts and culture programming. In the spirit of arts x eco action, all in a solar-powered, reclaimed industrial factory on the Hudson River.

There is no global problem more urgent than the climate crisis, and no power greater than the universal language of radical creativity to awaken our spirits to take action. This event is aimed towards celebrating beauty and possibility. This event is the action in and of itself, a coming together of creative humans to inspire and be part of the healing solutions already within reach.”
