Fans of the Foo Fighters were furious after their attempts to bag tickets to the band’s 2024 UK tour were hindered by a variety of ticketing mishaps.
The band, fronted by Dave Grohl, announced their full UK tour on Monday with gigs in Manchester, Glasgow, London and Birmingham. But after codes were leaked ahead of the release of presale tickets on Wednesday, fans were left scrambling for a spot at the coveted concert.
Documenting their ‘nightmare’ process, hundreds of users took to Twitter to complain about the process of getting tickets, being sold by Ticketmaster and Gigs and Tours.
It appears fans were having all sorts of issues – from being placed in ‘queue after queue’, to ‘website crashes’.
Taking to social media, one fan wrote: ‘S*** like this makes a mockery of registering for presale while pre-ordering the record and allows touts to do business early. Why weren’t those registering for presale given unique single use codes??’
‘So not just me that missed out on presale tickets due to a s*** system that kicked me out and told me I had to wait till Friday’, another said.
A third added: ‘Shoutout to @gigsandtours for the most useless / non-existent queing system of them all’.
A fourth said: ‘Absolutely gutted. These were more than just tickets to me!!! I did everything right and your system let me down!’
Another, who managed to bag tickets, still had words to complain: ‘Got my tickets. The whole ticket buying scene is abysmal.’
The band’s confirmation of a UK tour comes after an electric performance at Glastonbury 2023, where they surprised fans with a secret set, having been billed under the pseudonym of ‘The Churnups’.
