Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins will be joined by former Nine Inch Nails drummer Josh Freese to perform a Chevy Metal show that will consist of exclusively Van Halen songs on May 4th in Redondo Beach, CA.

“Playing an all Van Halen set w/Taylor Hawkins and @chevy_metal May 4 in Redondo Beach at @beachlifefestival. Currently shedding some VH on headphones for the first time since I was in 4th grade. Yes, my drum set will bigger than this (4 kick drums?) and no that’s not a set list on my rack tom (working titles for new Vandals I’ve been writing.)”

In December, David Lee Roth gave his first interview in three years with Vulture, and he hinted at Van Halen playing live this summer, with a possible festival or shows with Foo Fighters, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Jason Aldean, Church, and Chris Stapleton. He also mentioned Yankee Stadium in New York.

“When we come back through town in the summertime and do the original thing, maybe somewhere sportin’, maybe with somebody famous,” Roth says, “I’ll make sure we get you all tickets so you can see what we do for gainful employment. My mom still wonders.”

“We don’t think about the price. Because, you know, next time my rock band will be playing the same place that the Yankees play. Okay?”

He later said, “Well, I don’t know how far this privacy actually goes. But the band is solvent. And I can say that I contacted colleagues about being part of the show — Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Jason Aldean, the Foo Fighters, Church, and Stapleton. And they all said that, if everything happens, they would certainly be involved.”
