Tom Morello Sets ‘Power to the People’ Festival Lineup

Tom Morello has announced a new one-day event dubbed the “Power to the People” festival, bringing a major rock and activist-leaning lineup to the Washington, D.C. area this autumn. The show is set for Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, and is billed as a non-partisan celebration of peace, justice, solidarity, music and community action.

The bill will include Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews and a “special guest” appearance from Bruce Springsteen, Variety reported.

Also listed for the festival are Joan Baez, Brittany Howard, Dropkick Murphys, Serj Tankian, Cypress Hill, Killer Mike, Grandson, Taylor Momsen, Matt Cameron, the Linda Lindas and Morello himself, along with a DJ set and artwork from Mr. Shepard Fairey. According to the report, Morello announced the festival while onstage at Washington, D.C.’s Nationals Park on Wednesday night, where he is currently touring with Springsteen.

The event will also feature a “Freedom Village” area designed to connect fans with nonprofit organisations, advocacy groups, artists and community partners, with programming centred on civic engagement and grassroots organising. A portion of proceeds from all ticket sales, plus 100% of net proceeds from VIP tickets, will go to VoteRiders and HeadCount; the latter is expected to be on site to help attendees register to vote.

Morello has frequently blended music and activism throughout his career, including high-profile public statements that have remained part of his identity as a performer and organiser. Additional participating organisations, activations and special guests are expected to be announced in the coming weeks as ticket sales begin.
