This past weekend, bassist Gene Simmons appeared with his former KISS bandmate Bruce Kulick at Fanboy Expo. Following the two musicians’ reunion, Kulick shared a few pictures to Instagram of him and Simmons.

“Fanboy Expo has been wonderful for the fans… Gene is having some fun too! 😂” Kulick wrote on Instagram, captioning the series of pictures.

However, one of those photos – which featured Simmons suggestively touching Kulick – received mixed reactions from fans who thought Simmons’ behavior was inappropriate.

“Gene is getting border line creepy as he gets older,” one fan commented

“Gene on your ween! Didn’t have THAT on my Bingo card today!” another wrote, while a third added: “Would you like to file a police report, BK?”

Although some were surprised by how Simmons chose to pose for the picture, others found it comical.

“Gene grabbing your Love Gun?” one fan quipped, referencing KISS’ 1977 hit song “Love Gun.”

“Gene never misses an occasion to be silly, I love that,” another added.

Simmons is no stranger to being criticized for making inappropriate comments. Last year, the bassist received backlash for how he critiqued contestants during his guest appearance as a judge on the show “Dancing with the Stars.”

Simmons’ comments and scores had less to do with the dancers’ abilities, and more to do with their looks. He called one dancer “hot, hot, hot” and said another “fogged up [his] glasses” and moved him “not just with your gyrations and so on, but your beautiful face.”
