Below is a new rumor article from Destak Journal, which we have translated from Portuguese:
Five years after being one of the main attractions of the Brazilian edition of Lollapalooza, Pearl Jam returns to the country to fulfill the same function. The American band is one of the headliners of the festival in 2018.
Another novelty is that, like in 2013, next year’s edition is three days long. The Lolla is scheduled for the Easter holiday from March 30 to April 2.
In addition to Pearl Jam, The Killers, who also played at the festival five years ago, will return to the event.
The venue will remain the same one that has hosted Lolla since 2014: the Interlagos racetrack in São Paulo. The first two Brazilian editions of the American festival in 2012 and 2013 took place at the Jockey Club.
It is the fifth time that Pearl Jam comes to Brazil in a period of 13 years. The first visit happened in 2005, in a tour that passed through four cities of the country. Then they returned in the current decade in 2011, 2013 and 2015.
The band formed in Seattle (USA) in 1990 recorded huge records such as their first three, “Ten” (1991), “Vs.” (1993) and “Vitalogy” (1994); As well as songs that have become rock classics such as “Alive,” “Last Kiss,” “Given to Fly,” and “Jeremy.”
Despite the enviable career, the Pearl Jam has not released a new studio album since 2013, when “Lightning Bolt” came out.
The following is an Eddie Vedder announcement from Pearl Jam’s website:
Eddie Vedder will join Jimmy Kimmel, Steve Martin, John Mulaney, Bill Murray, Paul Shaffer, Martin Short, Sarah Silverman, and Jimmie Walker to salute David Letterman at the 20th Annual Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 8 p.m.
In addition to honoring this country’s greatest comedians, the Mark Twain Prize gala also also serves as a major fundraising event—all contributions help support the Center’s year-round educational and artistic initiatives that reach millions of students, educators, and families throughout the nation.
