Few bands have captured the wild, unrestrained spirit of alternative rock like Jane’s Addiction. At the heart of their raw, hypnotic energy has always been Perry Farrell—enigmatic, unpredictable, and utterly magnetic.

But now, it seems that Eric Avery, the band’s original bassist and creative backbone, recently revealed he’s back in the studio with guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins. The trio is reportedly working on new music following the release of two surprise tracks: ‘Imminent Redemption’ and ‘True Love.’ While those songs featured Farrell’s vocals, his infamous meltdown shortly after has left fans questioning whether he’ll be involved this time around. In an Instagram post, Eric Avery revealed that he is working with Navarro and Perkins.

It’s unclear if this new project will carry the Jane’s Addiction name or if the trio will forge a new path entirely. Navarro and Avery recently brought their 1994 project, Deconstruction, to streaming platforms for the first time.

In an Instagram post, Dave Navarro talked about Deconstruction. He noted how it was never really promoted and definitely had No singles. It quickly went away and ultimately went out of print. The album ad no structured songs. Eric sang and played bass, while Navarro was on guitar, and did a few back up vocals, and Michael Murphy from Lions and Ghosts played drums. They never did a live show but the exploration sonically was freeing and inspired. Now, all these years later this album has been added to some streaming outlets.

For those unfamiliar, Deconstruction was an experimental, atmospheric project that showcased Avery and Navarro’s chemistry outside the confines of Jane’s Addiction.

In 1991, the band famously imploded after their Ritual de lo Habitual tour. Farrell’s battles with addiction and his intense, often volatile personality clashed with Avery’s desire for creative control and Navarro’s personal struggles. The result was a hiatus that seemed insurmountable.
