Jane’s Addiction website is temporarily on hold. The website reads: ‘This account is temporary On Hold. Please check your billing for outstanding invoices and the Report Center for any unaddressed Resource usage incident Reports.” This indicates that the band may not be paying their website bills.
This comes following a shocking altercation between Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro. The incident saw Farrell appearing to purposely tackle Navarro on stage, leading to a heated confrontation that left both the audience and band members shocked.
A video clip shot by fans shows that Farrell, in the middle of his meltdown, attempted to use his microphone as a weapon against his bandmates. The tension between Farrell and Navarro reportedly escalated after Farrell got in Navarro’s face and began hurling insults at him.
A confused Navarro could be seen asking what was going on, but before anyone could intervene, Farrell lunged at him. The situation escalated as Farrell started throwing punches, though it’s unclear if any landed on Navarro.
Perry Farrell has also apologized to Dave Navarro after their battle onstage. Farrell told his Jane’s Addiction bandmates he is sorry in a new Instagram post, writing:
“This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family, and friends for my actions during Friday’s show. Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in unexcusable behavior, and I take full responsibility for how I chose to handle the situation.”
Perry Farrell, who is known for his edgy performances and had helped define the sound and attitude of alternative rock in the late 1980s and early 1990s. However, behind the scenes, Farrell was battling a darker side, his struggle with drug addiction.
