Joe Rogan said a 2003 injury devastated Ozzy Osbourne’s health.

“He crashed one of those off road bikes and almost died, it was bad.”

Rogan said a 2019 fall is what later contributed to Ozzy losing his ability to walk. “He aggravated and fell, and injured whatever he hurt back then.”

In 1986, Ozzy Osbourne helped bring Metallica’s music to the masses, taking them on the road as the supporting act on his “Ultimate Sin Tour.”

Following the news that Ozzy passed away on Tuesday (July 22nd), James Hetfield and co. paid tribute to the iconic musician in a statement shared to their official Instagram account:

“It’s impossible to put into words what Ozzy Osbourne has meant to Metallica. Hero, icon, pioneer, inspiration, mentor, and, most of all, friend are a few that come to mind. Ozzy and Sharon believed in us and transformed our lives and careers. He taught us how to play in the big leagues while at the same time being warm, welcoming, engaging, and all around brilliant.

“We are heartbroken and devastated by this loss and send our love and condolences to Sharon and their family, bandmates, and his very large circle of friends. He left an incredible legacy and will be sorely missed.”

Just 17 days before Ozzy’s death, Metallica took part in his and Black Sabbath’s last show “Back to the Beginning,” performing covers of Sabbath’s “Hole in the Sky” and “Johnny Blade” in celebration of their legendary careers.
