Late last year, Journey announced that they’ll be embarking on a farewell tour – which kicks-off on February 28 in Hershey, PA. Recently, however, there has been some question as to whether or not longtime lead singer Arnel Pineda would be taking part in the tour after he sparked new rumors of his exit.
The speculation follows comments Pineda made on an Instagram post by Journey drummer Deen Castronovo. “Congratulations and have fun on your 2026 Farewell Tour,” Pineda wrote, with the use of the word “your” prompting concern among fans.
Now, Journey co-founder and guitarist Neal Schon has addressed the rumors of Pineda’s exit.
His comments came when a fan questioned him about the situation on Twitter/X.
“Neal, what’s the situation with Arnel not being front man for at least the beginning of the tour? All Deeno vocals, a guest front man, or a surprise?” the fan asked.
Insisting he hasn’t heard about these rumors, Schon responded: “I’ve not heard anything about this. There’s so much misleading bs out there right now.”
When the same fan added that they had recently seen some “slanderous” comments being made about Journey in an effort to stir up drama, Schon implied that he believes he knows where the misinformation is coming from.
“It’s the ex managers,” he said.
