Journey drummer Deen Castronovo recently deleted an Instagram post that sparked speculation regarding singer Arnel Pineda’s future with the band, as reported by Instagram.
Journey member sparks speculation
The deleted post featured a photo of Castronovo with bandmates at a San Francisco 49ers game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The post drew a comment from the band’s current vocalist.
“Good times at Levi’s Stadium last night with my brothers from Journey at the San Francisco 49ers game,” Castronovo wrote in the deleted post.
Pineda’s response to the post then raised eyebrows among fans and industry observers.
“Congratulations and have fun on your 2026 Farewell Tour,” Arnel Pineda commented.
The comment suggests Pineda may not be participating in Journey’s upcoming tour. This adds to ongoing speculation about internal tensions within the legendary rock band.
This latest update comes as Journey gets ready for what could be their most significant tour announcement in years. KeyBank Center confirmed that the Final Frontier Tour will start on February 28th, 2026, at Giant Center in Hershey, PA. The tour will cover 60 cities across North America.
The timing of Castronovo’s deleted post and Pineda’s cryptic reply has increased speculation about the band’s lineup for the farewell tour. Neal Schon’s recent appearances with Castronovo, bassist Todd Jensen, and keyboardist Jason Derlatka—without Pineda or Jonathan Cain—have already sparked questions about the band’s future lineup.
