On Friday night, March 14, 2025, legendary rock band Journey was forced to abruptly end their performance at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo due to an electrical fire beneath the stage at NRG Stadium. The incident occurred approximately an hour into the concert, during their iconic hit “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Mid-song, the stage’s power unexpectedly cut out, silencing the music and darkening the projector screens. Lead singer Arnel Pineda continued singing momentarily, unaware of the technical failure, while fans attempted to carry on the chorus before realizing the severity of the situation.

Witnesses reported seeing crew members rushing onto the stage with fire extinguishers, addressing what was later confirmed as an electrical fire under the stage area. The band promptly exited, and an announcement was made informing attendees of the concert’s cancellation and instructing them to evacuate the venue. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

RodeoHouston organizers issued an apology on social media, stating that the concert had to be canceled due to the unforeseen incident. They assured ticket holders that efforts are underway to assess the situation and that updates regarding rescheduling options or refunds will be provided soon.

As of now, there is no information on whether upcoming performances at NRG Stadium will be affected.
