Kid Rock Endorses Arkansas Candidate After Controversy Over Business Partner
Kid Rock has recorded a video endorsement for Arkansas state Senate candidate Mr. Trey “BoDirt” Bohannan, a move that is drawing renewed attention to questions raised about Bohannan’s business ties and the politics surrounding the District 10 primary race.
Arkansas Times reported that Kid Rock’s endorsement was made at the request of Gov. Sarah Sanders as Bohannan challenges incumbent Sen. Ron Caldwell, and the piece describes the celebrity backing as a controversial match given the allegations and scrutiny now surrounding the campaign.
The Arkansas Times article says Bohannan founded BoDirt Media LLC in July 2024 with Mr. Christian Trey Ashcraft of Pine Bluff, who previously pleaded guilty in federal court to internet stalking involving underage girls and was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison. The report adds that political commentator Mr. Jimmie Cavin questioned Bohannan about the partnership, and that Bohannan’s responses shifted from describing the deal as long ago to saying he learned of Ashcraft’s crimes around six months earlier.
Kid Rock’s endorsement arrives as early voting begins and the race is framed as a test of the governor’s influence in the district; Alternative Nation has also tracked other recent headlines around the musician, including reports that his 2026 tour presale has been struggling in the ticket marketplace.
With the primary underway, the controversy adds another national pop-culture flashpoint to a local political battle, while the Arkansas Times report indicates questions about residency and business relationships remain part of the public debate around Bohannan’s candidacy.
