Controversial rocker Kid Rock recently issued a bold and unexpected message to his fellow GOP supporters following the election.

Kid Rock sends a message

The 53-year-old Southern rocker (real name: Bob Ritchie) has been a vocal supporter of the President-elect over the years. He has also made headlines for brash behavior in support of his political views, which has frequently been the subject of internet backlash.

However, in a video shared to social media on Friday, November 8th, the “Picture” artist not only sought to show the world the stark difference between his Kid Rock persona and who he is as Ritchie. However, also to “extend an olive branch” to Harris supporters after Trump’s victory on Election Day.

Kid Rock begins the video by showcasing how he, as his musical alter ego, reacted to Trump’s victory. He saunters up to a microphone with a cigar dangling from his mouth, wearing a white MAGA hat and a bright red jumpsuit adorned with flames. His trademark long hair flows wildly around him. Just as he is about to speak, he performs an overly exaggerated mic drop, grabs his crotch, and gives the camera the middle finger.

The clip then cuts to a more subdued Ritchie — glasses on, hair tucked into a navy blue Detroit cap, sporting a white T-shirt, shorts and athletic sneakers— showcasing his own election response.

“First off, let me convey to my family, friends, and supporters that now is not the time to gloat,” the “Batwitba” rocker says in a voiceover, as clips of American flags and neighborhoods appear on screen.

“We must remember that most of our left-leaning friends are good people, who want the same things in life as we do, but simply think differently on how to get there. It is now time to be the bigger man, to extend an olive branch and unite all reasonable people of this great nation,” he continues, as the music swells to a crescendo and videos of him performing flash across the screen.

“God has blessed America, and together with President Trump, we will make America great again,” he concludes the voiceover, set to footage of Trump’s assassination attempt, including the former president raising a triumphant fist in the air in the immediate aftermath. The video ultimately ends with promotion for Kid Rock’s headlining slot in the Rock the Country music festival.
