Ludacris Removed From “Rock the Country” Lineup

Ludacris is no longer taking part in Rock the Country, a country music festival led by Kid Rock. Ludacris’ name appeared on the official lineup poster earlier this week, but by Friday it had been quietly removed.

After the lineup was released, some fans criticized Ludacris online, arguing that the festival is closely linked to MAGA politics. The backlash grew quickly, with people questioning why the rapper would be associated with the event. A representative for the festival later confirmed to Rolling Stone that Ludacris was no longer part of the tour.

“Mix-Up” Cited by Ludacris’ Team

A representative for Ludacris explained that the situation was the result of a misunderstanding. According to them, lines were crossed internally and Ludacris was never supposed to be listed on the festival lineup in the first place. The explanation suggested there was no intentional decision to join or leave the event.

Nelly and Politics Around the Festival

Nelly remains on the lineup and has performed at the festival before. He also previously performed at an inauguration event for Donald Trump, which he publicly defended. Other performers connected to the tour have made political comments, including criticism of Joe Biden, though the festival itself is not officially political.

Big Names Still On the Bill

Even without Ludacris, the festival still features major country stars. Jason Aldean, Jelly Roll, Blake Shelton, and Miranda Lambert are all still scheduled to perform on the “Rock the Country” tour.
