Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows recently reacted to Kid Rock announcing a new tour on social media. Rock also revealed a plan to change how concert tickets are sold. The rocker dropped the news on social media with a video explaining his ideas for ticket pricing. The video came with a caption saying, “Surprise! I decided to let the cat out of the bag early. Sign up for ticket pre-sale starting tomorrow, on my birthday, Friday Jan. 17th at 10am EST.”
Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows reacted to the announcement by sharing Kid Rock’s video on Twitter. He stated that his band has been using a similar system through their ‘Proven Fans’ program.
“This already exists,” he wrote. “We have been doing it for 2 years. Proven fans get their tickets at the prices we set with no mark up or bots. Check the latest Soldier Field show for proof. If any artists want info setting this up I would be happy to help.”
This program ensures fans get tickets at the original prices without bots or unfair markups.
Shadows further added that ticketing systems should give fans options and warned that early access codes and email lists can still be manipulated by scalpers.
“On the subject of ticketing I believe fans just want options. When you resort to email lists and early access codes you will fall victim to the same bad actors gaming the system. You must have a barrier to entry.”
Kid Rock is set to perform with Carrie Underwood and join Trump’s ‘Victory Rally’ this Sunday at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. In addition to the new ticketing system and upcoming shows, Kid Rock will also headline the 2025 Rock The Country Festival with Nickelback. The tour will begin on April 4th in Livingston, Louisiana, and wrap up on July 26th in Anderson, South Carolina. He is also set to perform at the Rock The South Festival in Alabama from June 19th to 21th.
