Kid Rock Rejects Lip Sync Claims, Explains Halftime Audio Setup
Kid Rock has addressed fresh criticism about his Turning Point USA halftime appearance, rejecting claims that he lip synced and arguing the broadcast made his performance look out of sync. In a statement posted to social media, the musician said the audio and visuals were handled in a way that created confusion for viewers.
Kid Rock wrote that his “halftime performance was pre recorded but performed live,” adding, “No lipsycing like the haters and fake news are trying to report,” and he said the cameras were later synced to his performance of “Bawitdaba,” which “did not line up” as he explains in a video; he posted the message on X.
His comments suggest the controversy centres on production choices rather than whether he was actually singing along to a track, with Kid Rock framing the backlash as a misunderstanding created by the way the segment was presented on screen.
The pushback comes after earlier online chatter about the halftime segment, including reporting that focused on accusations of lip syncing during the performance.
For now, Kid Rock’s post stands as his clearest on-the-record response to the debate, and it highlights how quickly televised performances can trigger scrutiny when audio and camera timing appear to clash.
My halftime performance was pre recorded but performed live. No lipsycing like the haters and fake news are trying to report. When they synced the cameras to my performance on Bawitdaba, it did not line up as I explain in this video. pic.twitter.com/k1x1RfI9RY
