Kid Rock has responded to the new Brad Pitt AI scam, “This has happened using my name and likeness many times. Hard to believe some people fall for it. Really sad, but if I am being honest, also really dumb. Sorry, No way to sugar coat it. If it has happened to you or you feel you are being seriously trolled, contact the FBI. But beware and forewarned. Kid Rock.”

In early 2023, a 53-year-old French interior designer named Anne fell victim to an elaborate scam involving fraudsters impersonating actor Brad Pitt. The deception began when Anne received a message on Instagram from someone claiming to be Pitt’s mother, introducing her to “Brad.” Over the next 18 months, the impostor, utilizing AI-generated images and messages, convinced Anne of a romantic relationship, even proposing marriage. The scammer fabricated a story about needing funds for kidney cancer treatment, claiming his assets were inaccessible due to a divorce from Angelina Jolie.

Trusting these claims, Anne transferred approximately $850,000, including her divorce settlement funds, to the fraudster. She realized the deceit upon seeing news of Pitt’s actual relationship with Ines de Ramon. Devastated, Anne reported the incident to authorities and sought treatment for severe depression. This case underscores the growing sophistication of AI-driven scams and serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of online fraud.
