During an appearance on Bill Maher’s podcast “Club Random,” Kid Rock revealed that he recently had a vasectomy. His decision to have the procedure apparently came shortly after ending his relationship with longtime fiancée Audrey Berry late last year.
Recalling the details of the surgery, Rock started by telling Maher that the story was “f*cking actually hilarious.”
The musician admitted that before he began researching vasectomies, he didn’t know much about them. “I’m like, ‘Alright, I gotta get these things cut off, or whatever they do.’” Rock said, alluding to the fact that he incorrectly thought the surgery entailed removing his actual testicles.
“I’m under the impression, like, ‘They just cut your n*ts off?’ Like, no, no, no. They just cut a little thing in there.”
Rock then explained that the “worst part” of the procedure actually happened beforehand when the doctors were prepping the surgical area.
“It’s another dude washing your b*lls, getting ready for surgery,” he recalled.
“Now here’s the f*cked up part, Bill – that I can’t believe I’m gonna admit this on whatever we’re on – is that you’re sitting there and there’s a dude washing your b*lls. Now think about this: Someone starts scratching your back and you don’t know who it is — feels good,” Rock admitted with a smile.
The musician then explained that he tried to distract himself from the stimulating situation. “I’m [thinking about] like, f*cking baseball, who hit the most home runs in history?’ I’m like, ‘If I f*cking pop a b*ner right now, am I g*y?’ This is f*cked up.'”
He continued: “By the way, you know what the doctor’s name was? I’m not making this up. Dr. Johnson. No sh*t.
“So, I’m already having a good laugh in there – Now I’m on the table, he comes in. He’s like, ‘What type of music do you wanna listen to?’ I’m like, ‘Anything [that] keeps you calm.’ Motherf*cker puts on Metallica.”
