This past Saturday (May 10th), Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse in Nashville reportedly shut down for the day to avoid potential ICE raids sweeping the area.

The Nashville Scene is reporting that employees lacking legal status were told to leave work at the restaurant at around 9:30 pm on Saturday to avoid being detained by ICE agents.

“We were already understaffed because of the ICE raids throughout the weekend,” an anonymous employee told the publication. “It was crazy busy. But there was no one in the kitchen to cook the food.”

While Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse bears Kid Rock’s name, the restaurant is actually owned by Trump supporting conservative restaurateur Steve Smith. Rock apparently licenses his name to the establishment.

According to Nashville Scene, Smith’s other restaurants in Nashville also closed their doors on Saturday night due to ICE raid concerts. The following Sunday, some of those same eateries struggled with short staffing due to workers not wanting to return to work out of fear of being arrested.

Over the years, Rock has been an extremely vocal supporter of President Donald Trump and his administration. Last month during an appearance on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Rock said he thinks so far Trump is doing a “fan-freaking-tastic” job and even praised him for “securing the border.”
