Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch recently took to Instagram to call out LGBTQ+ hate. In the caption accompanying a video showing protesters holding signs reading “God Hates F*gs,” Welch condemned the message and voiced his support for the LGBTQ+ community.

“The blind leading the blind. This is a perfect example of using ‘faith’ as a weapon for hate,” he began. “These types of people love tossing around words like ‘antichrist,’ but they’re too blind to recognize they’re describing themselves. GOD IS LOVE.”

“If the motive of any person’s approach isn’t based on love, then they become as meaningless as the hate they preach,” Welch added, before sharing a positive message to the LGBTQ+ community.

“To my brothers and sisters in the homosexual community: God obviously values your life as much as anyone else’s on this planet. It’s impossible for him to carry hatred towards you. GOD. IS. LOVE. Which means His heart is always open to you.”

Welch, a born-again Christian, has frequently spoken publicly about his faith, which he embraced in 2005 following struggles with addiction.
