Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain discussed why she is becoming a musician in a new Instagram story Q&A.

This question always comes to my mind, do you work? What is your job?

“So visual art & music are my ‘jobs’ I guess, but really it’s more like fulfilling my life’s purpose than a job. Before I decided on that though: I worked retail. Interned at Gallery 303 in New York. Interned at Rolling Stone magazine. Worked as an assistant at a movie prop house. Interned at a crummy record label. I also seriously considered becoming a special effects make up artist at one point.

I am deeply aware most people are not allotted the opportunity to seriously explore many different fields of interest. I am very very lucky to have been able to explore a bunch of ideas before deciding the on foundation that gives my life meaning.”

Frances Bean Cobain has teased several new songs this year, and it is rumored that she recently signed a two album record deal. She has never performed live or released a studio recorded song.
