Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain discussed recently visiting Ireland with the Cobain family for her father as being a ‘healing’ experience. Below are excerpts from her Instagram story Q&A.

I was at the Newbridge opening but was too nervous to say hello! How was your Irish trip?

You should have said hi! I promise I will always say hi back! Ireland was magical and coming with my family for my Dad was healing. Traveling and learning are my two favorite activities. 10/10 would recommend.

How can I have a positive outlook on life?

I’m not entirely sure it’s as easy as asking the question but it’s an excellent start. Don’t participate in elements of life that go against your own spiritual interest (note I said spiritual not monetary or material). If you know someone or something makes you feel shitty don’t actively engage with said negativity.

Also, if we’re talking about how to change your perspective when stuff is hard, what really helped strengthen my coping ‘tool set’ was transforming me thinking from ‘why is this happening to me’ to ‘what is this trying to teach me.’
