During their Joshua Tree tour stop in London, U2 invited Noel Gallagher to perform Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” Before launching into the 1995 (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? cut, Bono said to Noel: “Thank you for bringing your High Flying Birds with us. May you take us somewhere else, somewhere only you can.” As he concluded the song, Noel said, “For the people in Manchester!”
