LIMP BIZKIT paid tribute to their late bassist SAM RIVERS during their first show since his death.
In Mexico City on Saturday (Nov. 29th), Limp Bizkit played an emotional tribute video honoring Rivers. As the video played, Fred Durst and co. sat on stage watching it with the rest of the audience.
The words “Sam Rivers, our brother forever” and “Sam Rivers, we love you forever” concluded the video, after which the band stood up and embraced each other.
Rivers passed away on October 18 at the age of 48.
Sam Rivers, bassist and founding member of the metal band Limp Bizkit Sam Rivers recently passed away. Guitarist John Notto recently shared an emotional tribute to his late best friend Sam.
John Notto pays tribute to Sam Rivers
Notto described him as a lifelong companion who was present for all of his major milestones. He recalled growing up, dreaming, laughing, and traveling the world together, calling Sam the godfather to his daughters and a brother.
“Today is going to be tough. A first I never wanted to experience. Especially not now. You’ve been there for so many major firsts in my life. Some of my earliest memories were made with you. We grew up together. Laughed together. together. Realized our dreams together. And traveled the world together. You’ve always been there. The godfather to my girls, my best friend-my brother. There will never be another you.”
Notto said that the band will honor Sam’s memory with every show, thanks fans for their supportive messages, and dedicates their performances to Sam. He added:
“We’re going to honor the life you lived and the love you spread with every show we play. You’ll always be with us. Thank you to our fans for all the messages of support and tributes to Sam. It means the world to us. This one’s for you Sammy.”
A picture from a recent performance also began circulating on social media, and viewers immediately jumped into detective mode. One of the most common guesses was that the bassist resembles P-Nut from 311, with several users insisting the stance, style, and stage presence felt familiar. However, no confirmation has been made from either camp.
Other fans threw out different possibilities, with some naming Kidnot, while many chose humor over accuracy, flooding the thread with intentionally absurd, made-up names. The mix of genuine guesses only added to the intrigue. At this point, the identity of Limp Bizkit’s touring bassist remains unknown.
