Linkin Park members Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong recently appeared on the Zach Sang Show. Shinoda revealed that it was former Linkin Park drummer Rob Bourdon who suggested him to meet Emily. He further revealed that Emily had reached out to Mike to take part in Linkin Park and Friends: Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington in Hollywood Bowl in 2017. However, it didn’t work out because they already got all the artists for the tribute show.

The tribute show took place on October 27, 2017, which was a little over three months since the death of Chester Bennington. The members of Linkin Park had returned to the stage with a lot of friends to pay tribute to their late singer. The band had booked the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles for what would be a an iconic emotionally charged performance.

The band was joined by other musical guests including Blink-182, Machine Gun Kelly, members of Echosmith, System of A Down and more.

Linkin Park recently returned from hiatus and have reunited for the first time since the tragic loss of their iconic frontman. The band had performed in a live stream event to announce their comeback as well as their new album, From Zero which was released on November 15th. However, fans quickly noticed the absence of drummer Rob Bourdon during the performance as he was replaced by Colin Brittain.

During his Instagram live from South Korea, Brittain said that he was not replacing Rob Bourdon. He said: “I’m not replacing Rob, this wasn’t a band’s mindset when we set out to do this. We’re just moving forward. Rob is an amazing drummer, he was very influentional to me, and so trying to “replace” somebody like him would be unrealistic.”

Meanwhile, former Dead Sara frontwoman Emily Armstrong was also introduced as the new vocalist replacing Chester Bennington. However, her addition to the band drew mixed reactions from the fans. The band will embark on a 50-plus date world tour starting January 31st in Mexico City.
