Jaime Bennington, the son of late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, has made some big claims and allegations. He said on Instagram that his family, including his stepmother Talinda, kept his nephew from him and protected his alleged abuser. He accused his brother Isaiah of beating him for hours at Talinda’s wedding to Michael Friedman. Jaime said his brother Tyler saw it happen and asked for help, but Talinda and Michael didn’t help. Note that these are all unproven allegations by Jaime.
Jaime also said that after he returned from Hawaii, he stopped talking to his family because of the abuse. He claimed that Isaiah hurt him so badly he had trouble breathing for months. Jaime said he told Talinda about the abuse in January 2020, and she already knew but did nothing because she was busy with her own life. He accused Talinda of manipulating him emotionally, psychologically, and physically for all the 16 years he knew her, starting in 2004. Jaime claimed Talinda admitted that Isaiah always got away with bad behavior while he was not allowed any mistakes. He also said that in the same year, 2020, he decided to separate from his family.
“My family on both sides hid my nephew from me and sheltered my abuser. Isaiah has threatened to kill me multiple times over the last 7 years. On the night of Talinda’s wedding to Michael Friedman, Isaiah beat me for hours,” Jaime shared in his Instagram stories.
“Tyler watch it happen. While it was happening, Tyler went to Talinda and Michael asking for help. They did not respond. When I returned from Hawaii I cut my family off entirely and asked Trilogy if I could live with them for a while. Isaiah beat me for so long and with such force I couldn’t breath correctly for months after,” he continued.
At the end of January 2020 I told Talinda what had happened and she told me that she already knew. Tyler told her the same night it happened. I was shocked. When I asked her why she hadn’t stepped into the situation as my mother she claimed she had her own life to worry about. I told her how shocked I was to hear something like that from her.”
“I then asked her, ‘How long have you been manipulating me like that?’ Spitballing I asked, ‘For the entirety of our relationship?’ Talinda told me it was true. She had been manipulating me psychologically, emotionally, and therefore physically for the ENTIRETY of our relationship,” he revealed, adding, “I then demanded that Talinda finally admit to the fact that historically Isaiah was allowed to get away with literally ANYTHING and EVERYTHING but that I wasn’t allowed a single misstep. She admitted it was true. After acknowledging that I was the truth teller in the family, Talinda then said, ‘You are the easiest one to shut up. You know how difficult your brother and your father are. It’s either silence you or deal with them.’”
Jaime ended the alleged story with, “Our relationship began in 2004. That means that by this point in time the manipulations had occurred on some level for 16 years. The same year, 2020, I would resign/separate from my family due to the abuse I suffered on both sides growing up.”
Just last week, Jaime alleged that Talinda asked for a restraining order against him. He alleged that she wanted him banned from California, to protect four other people including his siblings and a roommate’s daughter, and for the order to last 3-5 years. Jaime said he had to represent himself in court and was not allowed to show any evidence. Despite this, the court still granted the restraining order but with changes: a 100-yard stay-away order, removing his siblings and the daughter from protection, and setting the order for just one year. Jaime claimed Talinda lied under oath.
