Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich posted rare photos from a 2003 show, showing off his bizarre facial hair. One fan said that Ulrich a guitar part (he’s a drummer, so it’s not his main gig), and he can be seen throwing a guitar in one of the photos in the Instagram album.

Ulrich wrote, “Not really sure what the hell is going on here …. but it happened in Dublin in 2003 at RDS Arena…and since we are rolling your way in a coupla days blah blah etc…actually, this may involve the transition into Nothing Else Matters! Does anyone know?? #wanna.”

I was at a show at Earls Court, London, on that tour – and remember you playing the main riff from Smoke on The Water during a break in the set!

Ulrich wrote in another recent post, “…and in this corner…High School Graduate Layne Ulrich! Congrats on your big day bruh. Four years later and you fuckin nailed it. Nailed it big time. Once again, you raised the bar another notch. So proud of you …part 965! I love you big man. Everyone say …Congrats Layne…Forhelvede!!! 🎉🎉🎉#wanna”
