According to Vital Vegas, Metallica is “ready to ink a deal for a Sphere residency,” with the shows being possibly booked for “fall of 2026″ after James Hetfield and co. wrap up their European tour next year. The outlet did note, however, that “specifics haven’t been confirmed or announced yet.”
This comes after Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in April that he and his bandmates could be interested in performing at the state of the art venue.
“That’s a great example of how venues are changing. That’s using modern technology to the fullest, to really up the levels of production and entertainment, connected to A.I. and making it a crazy experience,” Hammett said at the time.
If Metallica do end up booking a residency, they would be the latest act to play the unique venue. So far, the Sphere has hosted performances by U2, Phish, Dead & Company, The Eagles, Backstreet Boys, Kenny Chesney, and Anyma.
