Metallica Sphere Ticket Fees Leave Fans Stunned
Metallica’s upcoming concerts at Las Vegas’ Sphere are generating criticism among fans, with complaints focusing not only on face-value prices, but also on the added service fees and taxes that can push totals into eye-watering territory. In posts shared this week, fans described the buying process as a costly scramble, particularly for multi-night “enhanced” packages and premium seat tiers.
One fan account said they saw an order where the buyer paid just under $1,700 in fees and taxes alone for four enhanced two-night tickets, bringing the final total to a little over $8,100 through Ticketmaster, not resale, LCSPhotos reported.
The same discussion has fuelled broader frustration about how high-priced options are shaping the onsale. The way the sale was structured has conditioned some buyers to feel “grateful” to pay about $900 per ticket, with a mix of Vibee packages, VIP offers, two-day bundles, Platinum pricing, and claims that some seats were held back for later releases.
Those complaints reflect earlier backlash over add-on charges, with some fans noting that the final checkout total can feel disconnected from the listed ticket price; Alternative Nation has previously covered how Metallica’s Las Vegas ticket fees have been criticised as reaching into the hundreds.
With demand for the Sphere dates expected to stay high, the debate now centres on transparency and affordability: whether premium packages and dynamic pricing are setting a new baseline for major rock tours, and how much fans will ultimately be asked to cough up to keep seeing their favorite bands live.
Saw someone paid just under $1700 in fees and taxes only (for 4 Enhanced 2-night tickets). Final bill was just over $8,100. That’s standard price and through Ticketmaster. Not stubhub. Unreal. https://t.co/1UY982jB7u
