Watch Mother Love Bone Reunite For Emotional Performance

Mother Love Bone’s surviving members, including Pearl Jam’s Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament, reformed on Saturday night in Seattle at the Neptune Theater for the SMASH Benefit show celebrating the music of Andy Wood.

PearlJamOnline reports that at the concert – in which only Mother Love Bone covers were played – several local musicians such as Carrie Akre (Hammerbox / Goodness), Adam Czeisler (Sweetwater), Shawn Smith (Brad / Pigeonhead), Robb Benson (Stereo Embers) , Ohm Johari (Hell’s Belles), Ben Rew (Camarosmith), Rick Friel (Rockfords), Steve Mack (Stag), Michael Musburger (The Posies), Jeff Rouse (Duff McKagen’s Loaded), Ben London (Stag, Alcohol Funnycar) and Tim DeJulio (Stereo Embers, Flight To Mars).

In the first encore they re-formed, after eight years from the last performance played together, Mother Love Bone – with Jeff Ament on bass, Stone Gossard and Bruce Fairweather on guitars, and Greg Gilmore on drums – who, together with Shawn Smith and Ohm Johari, played a set of four songs. The concert ended on the notes of Argent’s cover, Hold Yr Head Up, played by all the musicians involved in the evening.
