Nikki Sixx recently opened up on the doubts regarding Motley Crue’s future touring plans. He revealed massive details regarding the band’s upcoming schedule and contractual obligations in a statement shared on X.

The bassist’s comments came in response to a fan’s request for the band to return to Japan for future performances.

A Motley Crue fan asked: “Hello Nikki. Please come back to Japan for a tour someday.”

Nikki Sixx responds

Sixx’s response provided insight into the band’s current situation and uncertain plans.

“Don’t know if I’ll ever tour there again,” Sixx said. “I love Japan but after these 33 shows our contracts up and we will need some real time off to decide what we do or do not wanna do in the future.” Motley Crue’s 2026 tour ends on September 26th in Ridgefield, which ends their contract.

Earlier, Sixx had also shared his perspective on balancing multiple projects and the band’s limited 2026 schedule.

“There’s been a lot of great family time over the holidays and a lot of football, but now 2026 is front and center it’s time to dive back in,” he said.

“There are so many exciting projects ahead this year and next. Mötley only has 33 shows this summer, leaving room for other creative ventures. I’ve never been good at doing just one thing at a time.”

Motley Crue fans are highly anticipating “The Return of the Carnival of Sins” tour. The tour celebrates both the 20th anniversary of their 2005-2006 tour and the band’s 45th anniversary as a group.
