Motley Crue return after Vince Neil’s stroke
Mötley Crüe officially kicked off their long-awaited Las Vegas residency on September 12th after rumors it may be the end, 2025, at Dolby Live at Park MGM, thrilling fans with a powerhouse 14-song set that included classics like Too Fast For Love, Dr. Feelgood, and Kickstart My Heart. The concert also featured a medley of covers, from Helter Skelter to Fight For Your Right.
The residency, originally scheduled for March–April 2025, was postponed after frontman Vince Neil suffered a stroke on Christmas 2024. In an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Neil revealed that the stroke left his entire left side paralyzed, forcing him to relearn how to walk.
He described the grueling process of recovery, which took him from being carried to the bathroom to using a wheelchair, then a walker, and finally regaining his mobility. “It takes a while to get your brain to start moving your legs,” Neil explained, crediting intense rehab and training with a football coach in Nashville for his near-complete recovery.
During the show, Nikki Sixx called out rich fans, telling them they needed to stand up, as transcribed by Alternative Nation.
“The first thing we’ve got to do, is I know you think you’re in Las Vegas, but f**k Las Vegas. Stand the f**k up right now, even in the expensive seats. You’ve got to stand up and put your hands up. This is not the Backstreet Boys, this is rock and roll motherf**kers.”
Now 64 years old, Neil estimates he’s “90 to 95 percent” back to his old self and proved it with an energetic return to the stage. Before this residency, his last live performance was with Mötley Crüe at the Aftershock festival in October 2024.
The new Vegas run continues through October 3, 2025, with original tickets honored. This marks the band’s third Vegas residency, following their 2012 Takes On Sin City and 2013 Evening In Hell shows.
The comeback follows the October 2024 release of their Bob Rock–produced EP Cancelled, featuring the Top 5 Rock Radio hit Dogs of War, a Beastie Boys cover Fight For Your Right, and the title track. Guitarist John 5, who replaced Mick Mars in 2022, joins the band for this powerful new chapter.
