Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has faced massive backlash for his recent 2024 message.
“Looking forward to saying goodbye to 2024. It’s been the year of being stabbed in the back multiple times but the future is beyond bright for me and my family,” he wrote in his post.
However, the post quickly stirred a debate about the former band member Mick Mars. Many fans mentioned the guitarist and warned the bassist about his words.
“You kind of know about stabbing folks in the back eh?… considering what ya did to Mick… define irony,” one user replied to Sixx.
“Now you know how Mick feels. Hope it gets better for everyone,” another added.
When another user wrote, “No one gonna bring up the absolute Brute vs Ceasar backstabbing that they pulled on Mick huh?,” a user responded to the comment. “‘I tried to fire Mick Mars and he sued us and won, I’VE been backstabbed!!,’” they wrote.
Mars had first stopped touring with Mötley Crüe and said that health issues were the reason but he would still be part of the band’s creative work. Later, he went on to file a lawsuit against the band. This confirmed rumors of problems between him and the other members. At the same time, the band started working on new projects, including a studio album and a European tour with Def Leppard, without the guitarist.
John 5 officially joined Mötley Crüe to fill in for Mick Mars in 2022.
