Nikki Sixx recently told fans that he hasn’t been seeing his Mötley Crüe bandmates much lately, even as the band lines up major live dates for next summer. The bassist addressed the situation while answering a fan question about how the group is doing ahead of July performances.
In the Q&A exchange, Sixx said distance is the main factor, explaining that he lives in Wyoming while vocalist Vince Neil is based in Tennessee and drummer Tommy Lee is in California, meaning they typically only reunite for rehearsals and touring.
Sixx also pointed to how dramatically their circumstances have changed since the band’s earliest days. He noted that the members once shared an apartment, but are now spread across the US, adding that the “band’s great” despite not regularly being in the same place.
Haven’t seen the guys in awhile. I live in Wyoming and Vince in Tennessee and Tommy is in California. We see each other at rehearsal and then of course on tour. Crazy we all used to live in an apartment together and now so far away. Bands great though. https://t.co/EaLdUGHeTk

The comments arrive as Mötley Crüe continues to navigate a long-running reunion era and shifting expectations around its future, including the band’s previous discussion of an end date tied to its reunion contract that has been a recurring point of debate among fans.
For now, Sixx’s remarks suggest the group’s working rhythm remains familiar: separate lives between tours, then full focus when the calendar demands it. With a summer run on the horizon, the next time fans see the full band together is likely to be onstage, not in day-to-day public appearances.
