Nirvana Returns Featuring Krist Novoselic And Kim Thayil Announced

Seattle band Dead Bars have announced that they will be performing at the Nirvana Returns celebration in Seattle on Friday. Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic and Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil will be in attendance.

Dead Bars tweeted, “We are playing the #NirvanaReturns party at @MoPOPSeattle on Friday with @redribbonsounds and @KristNovoselic @brucepavitt @jackendino Steve Fisk, Charles Peterson, and Gillian Gaar @subpop” has the event details below:

See more than 200 rare Nirvana artifacts, photographs, and oral histories in the exhibition’s new gallery.

Sit in on a panel featuring Charles Peterson, Jack Endino, Bruce Pavitt, Kim Thayil, Gillian Gaar, and Steve Fisk, and stick around for sets from Dead Bars and Red Ribbon in The Lounge.

“Get an intimate look at the history of Seattle luminaries, Nirvana, with more than 200 rare artifacts, photographs, and oral histories.

The exhibition features instruments like Kurt Cobain’s Fender Stratocaster, Krist Novoselić’s Hiwatt DR103 bass amplifier head, and Dave Grohl’s Tama Rockstar-Pro drum kit. In addition, a diverse set of objects like the Cobain-created Fecal Matter shirt and the casting call flier for the “Smells Like Teen Spirit” music video will be on display.

Visitors eager to dig even further can view video kiosks with even more information. Steve Fisk’s ambient soundtrack can be heard as fans move through the exhibition.”
