Just 17 days before Ozzy Osbourne passed away on Tuesday (July 22nd), the 76-year-old legendary musician played what was billed as his final show in his hometown of Birmingham, England. While the farewell event (dubbed “Back to the Beginning”) marked the end of his performing career, new reports suggest that the late Black Sabbath frontman was not entirely ready to retire.

According to the Daily Mail, Osbourne had multiple projects in the works before his unfortunate passing.

“Ozzy saw Villa Park as the farewell on his live shows, not his career,” an insider exclusively told the publication.

This apparently included a new Andrew Watt produced album he had planned on releasing later this year.

“With the memoir, album, and TV shows, there was a lot more for him to focus on this year alone,” the source added. “Ozzy was always like, ‘This is not the f***ing end…I have got stuff to do.’”

His previously announced memoir, titled “Last Rites,” is expected to hit shelves this coming October and will chronicle his life, career, and recent health struggles.

Osbourne had also been filming a feature-length documentary for Paramount Plus called “Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape From Now,” while his family were set to star in a new BBC reality show titled “Home to Roost.”

The Daily Mail’s source added that before his death Osbourne was ‘looking forward to promoting’ his book later this year, finding the whole process ‘quite therapeutic and fun.’

‘He was a born entertainer and he overcame so much in his final years alive with his neck, back and leg pains – as well as the Parkinson’s – to be his best on TV, radio and stage,’ they said.
