In a recent appearance on the podcast “Steve-O’s Wild Ride!”, Yungblud opened up about his relationship with Ozzy Osbourne and recalled some advice the late legend gave him.

“The most beautiful thing he ever said to me was, ‘Never compromise. They’ll get it later,’” Yungblud remembered.

Although the singer acknowledges that Osbourne’s words might come across as a “passive statement,” he explained that they carry deep personal meaning for him.

Yungblud went on to address why he and Ozzy got along so well, attributing it to his stage presence being similar to that of the Black Sabbath frontman.

“People find it hard to believe that I’m actually f*cking like this all the time,” he said of his energy level.

“And after kicking it with Sharon [Osbourne], she said he saw a little bit of himself in me, not because we made the same music [but] because we’re f*cking a bit nuts.”

Yungblud said something similar In a previous interview with NME, telling the publication:

“Ozzy was a character in my life who was a reflection of everything I went through. I was always a bit over the top. I was always seen to be a bit crazy. I was always seen to be a bit loud, but when some people saw that as a negative, Ozzy would provide me with the hope that there was an avenue for someone like me in the world.”

Elsewhere in his conversation with Steve O, Yungblud recalled how he met Ozzy, explaining that it was actually Ozzy’s daughter Kelly Osbourne who put them in contact.

“You know when people say ‘Don’t meet your heroes’? Ozzy, my whole life, has always been my North Star because I’ve just been mental,” he said. “I’ve been crazy and f*cking out there and he was accepted for his madness and he was loved for his madness.”

Sharon Osbourne updates fans

Sharon Osbourne posted a message to fans yesterday, “I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media. Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights.

Though I’m still finding my footing, I wanted to share some glorious creatures I had the chance to spend an afternoon with. The connection you make with these powerful birds is built entirely on trust and confidence. They’ll choose to perch on you only if they sense you are safe and unafraid of them. It’s a bond I know all too well, and the experience was nothing short of magical.

I love you all, and I thank you deeply for the otherworldly amount of love you continue to send my way. ✌️❤️”
