Ozzy Osbourne’s last phone call with collaborator
Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt opened up about his longtime friendship with Ozzy Osbourne, and if Ozzy seemed okay in their last phone call. For six and a half years, Watt says he and Osbourne spoke on the phone daily – including the day before the legendary musician died.
“Everything was normal,” Watt said of his conversation with Ozzy less than 24 hours before he passed away, via Rolling Stone. “And the next day the news was just a giant shock.”
Watt continued, explaining that Osbourne’s death felt like losing a family member.
“He saw me in a way that I did not see myself, and if you talk to anyone that loves him or was lucky enough to be loved by him, that’s a constant thing,” he said. “He could see you in your good, your bad, and just in a way that you were — he was witchy like that. He often knew things that were gonna happen before they happened and just had an incredible sense.”
Andrew Watt’s tribute to Ozzy Osbourne
Days after Osbourne passed away, Watt took to Instagram to pay tribute to the late Black Sabbath frontman.
“Still processing saying goodbye to @ozzyosbourne,” he wrote, captioning a carousel of photos featuring himself and the legendary musician. “Someone said ‘Grief is the price of Love’. I say that to myself everyday but at the end of the day I just miss my friend so much. There is a new hole in my heart, something I will learn to live with…The music is obvious…how lucky I was to share in a little of Ozzy’s magic, but the friendship was the greatest gift of all…I will miss laughing with you forever Boss… Do you want a kick in the balls?”
