Ozzy Osbourne enjoyed Michael Jackson

Ozzy Osbourne was a big fan of Michael Jackson’s music in his final years, his son Jack has now revealed to fans. Ozzy also went through a Peter Gabriel ‘phase.’

“He would play the most random shit. He went through a deep Michael Jackson phase at one point, and he went through a heavy Eighties phase. He always would play Peter Gabriel,” Jack Osbourne told Rolling Stone.

Jack Osbourne has been making the media rounds to promote Ozzy’s book ‘Last Rites.’ Jack also defended Ozzy’s protege Yungblud on a new podcast. Following Ozzy Osbourne’s death in July, Yungblud has honored his late friend and mentor by performing “Changes” each night on his current tour. The young musician also recently took the stage at the MTV VMAs alongside Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, and Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt, to pay tribute to the late Black Sabbath frontman.

After his VMAs appearance, Yungblud faced criticism from The Darkness guitarist Dan Hawkins, who described the performance as “cynical, nauseating, and, more importantly, sh*t.”

Justin Hawkins, frontman of The Darkness and brother of Dan Hawkins, also weighed in, posting two videos accusing Yungblud of being a poser and taking aim at his music.

Jack Osbourne defends Yungblud

Now, in a new interview on Jack Osbourne’s podcast “Trying Not to Die,” Yungblud shared what he thinks of his critics.

“The thing about hate is you will never see someone that’s bigger or more emotionally evolved than you talk sh*t on you. You ain’t ever going to see f*cking James Hetfield slag off a young rock star. Because he’s James f*cking Hetfield,” he said.

“And they’re not going to see your dad slag off a f*cking rock star because they don’t got anything to prove. They don’t need to insert themselves into a conversation because they’re emotionally evolved and they know what it takes to get somewhere.”

During their conversation, Jack Osbourne grew emotional as he defended Yungblud’s tributes to his late father.

“You were so much more involved. And we respected that you respected that,” Jack said through tears. “But these people didn’t f*cking know. They don’t know the f*cking story of it. And I was just like ‘f*ck you, dude. Dom [Yungblud’s real name] meant something to my dad. My Dad meant something to Dom.’”

Yungblud says haters are jealous and bitter

Yungblud continued, speaking about his performance at Ozzy and Black Sabbath’s farewell show “Back to the Beginning.”

“I think that the strangest thing about that was – and I’m gonna get emotional now – all I was trying to do was my best for your old man because he gave me such a gift,” he said. “And when people try and intellectualize a sense of spirit and six musicians on a stage going, ‘We f*cking love you man,’ it’s just bitter and jealous.

“They are doing the things they say we are doing. They are trying to insert themselves into the conversation to obtain some kind of relevancy on the back of us honoring one of the greatest rock stars that ever lived. And then they talk about authenticity and stuff like that. I just loved your dad.”
