Musician Ozzy Osbourne, who is known for being the legendary singer of Black Sabbath and the “Prince of Darkness,” recently passed away at the age of 76.
On July 22nd, his family released a statement to The Sun, saying, “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”
However, fans quickly noticed two of his children weren’t listed in the statement.
Ozzy Osbourne and his first wife, Thelma Riley, had three children. Ozzy adopted her son, Elliot, who was born in 1966. Together, they welcomed two children: Jessica, born in 1972, and Louis, born in 1975. Ozzy later married his manager, Sharon, on July 4, 1982, and they had three children together: Aimee, born in September 1983, Kelly, born in October 1984, and Jack, born in November 1985. While both Elliot and Jessica have been involved in the acting world, they maintain very low profiles.
In the 2011 documentary God Bless Ozzy Osbourne, Ozzy stated that he doesn’t remember the times Jessica and Louis were born. Jessica even said that she doesn’t have many memories of Ozzy from when she was growing up.
She said via EOnline, “My recollection from my childhood with dad is that he’d be away for very long periods of time, and there’d always be a period of adjustment when he came home, and then it’d get to normality and then he’d go again. So, it was a very erratic chidhood with dad.”
It’s unclear if they’ll release their own public statement, or if they remained estranged, but for now, let’s give everyone their privacy amid this trying time.
