Pearl Jam Announce Special Vs. 25th Anniversary Celebration

Pearl Jam have announced, “Premiering today! To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Vs., members of Pearl Jam will share exclusive track-by-track commentary on SiriusXM’s Pearl Jam Radio Channel 22:

Pearl Jam Radio’s Twitter revealed that Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, and Jeff Ament had recorded new commentary tracks for every song on Vs. The landmark album was Pearl Jam’s second record, and their first to feature drummer Dave Abbruzzese. Brendan O’Brien also produced Pearl Jam for the first time on the album, a year after starting his producing career with Stone Temple Pilots on Core.

Vs. set the record for most copies of an album sold in its first week, a record it held for five years. Vs. sold 950,378 copies in its first five days of release, which set a record for the most copies of an album sold in its first week of release and outperformed all other entries in the Billboard top ten that week combined.

Vs. occupied the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart for five weeks, the longest duration for a Pearl Jam album. The album has been certified seven times platinum by the RIAA in the United States.

As of July 2013, has sold 6,010,000 copies in the United States according to Nielsen SoundScan.
