In a new Pearl Jam Vs. 25th anniversary special on Pearl Jam Radio on SiriusXM, Jeff Ament discussed Eddie Vedder not wanting to live with the band while recording the album, and choosing to live in a sauna in the backyard.

“I do remember when we showed up, because it was a live in studio, Ed didn’t want to be in the house, so he camped out in the sauna. There was this teeny little wooden sauna in the backyard, and it had a big long bench on it, and I think he put his sleeping bag on it. A lot of times he would just leave in his truck for like a day, drive out to the ocean, and write lyrics.”

Pearl Jam have announced that Eddie Vedder’s performance at Mandela 100 in South Africa on Sunday will be broadcast live on YouTube at 7AM EST.

“Tune in to the @GLBLCTZN livestream on 12/2 starting at 7AM EST and watch Eddie’s performance at Mandela 100 in South Africa: http://pj.lnk.to/Mandela100_LiveTw …

Jill Vedder recently posted on Instagram, “This #GivingTuesday I will be thinking of the children and their families who battle EB every day, just like Rowan and her amazing parents Kate and Jason. We had the pleasure of spending time with Rowan earlier this month and she is such an inspiring, adorable, and courageous little girl. It is because of Rowan and the thousands of children around the world with EB that we continue to fight for a cure. You can see the video premier of Rowan’s Story via the link in my bio. #HealEB.”
