During a recent broadcast on SiriusXM’s Pearl Jam Radio, Jeff Ament provided an update to fans regarding the current status of Pearl Jam.
Jeff Ament provides update on Pearl Jam
Ament confirmed that the band is in a downtime phase following the end of the Dark Matter World Tour.
The tour officially completed on May 18th, 2025 in Pittsburgh. Speaking during a short segment on PJ Radio, Ament revealed that the band decided to step back for a bit before moving forward.
The hiatus isn’t expected to last long, though. Ament noted that rehearsals are planned for early 2026, pointing toward the band getting back to work during that year, even if there are currently no tours or shows on the calendar.
During the same appearance, Ament referenced attending the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony for Soundgarden, making it clear these remarks come from a very recent moment.
Currently here’s no word on new studio sessions or upcoming live plans. Still, the mention of rehearsals indicates this pause is simply part of the band’s normal rhythm after a heavy run on the road.
The big open question remains who will be behind the drum kit following Matt Cameron’s exit, which was announced back on July 7th.
As is often the case with Pearl Jam, there’s no big plans or surprise announcement. These are a few straightforward comments that help frame the situation and suggests that the band isn’t stopping but are in a natural downtime between cycles.
