Former Pearl Jam drummer Dave Abbruzzese made a very rare video appearance last week, recording a special message for the GoFundMe campaign for the documentary ‘Searching For Abbruzzese.’ Abbruzzese said, “I’m asking you to support this project called Searching For Abbruzzese. When I first heard about it, the title, I was kind of taken aback by the title. I got to know Carlos [Garcia-Menocal], I got to know his words and his story. I found it to be entertaining, and smart and witty, and heartfelt, much like Carlos is himself. Personally, on a personal level, I’d like to see this project succeed because I enjoy this man, and his words, and his family, and his attitude towards what he is doing.

There needs to be more people doing what they believe in, in my humble opinion, in that industry. So if you could, if you’ve got a few extra bucks to float towards this project, I know everyone involved would appreciate it very much. With any luck at all, and a bunch of skill, and a lot of hard work, they’ll get this thing happening, get it in front of the powers that be. It’s true, it very well could be your story.”

Searching For Abbruzzese wrote on their Facebook page, “Hi everyone, Dave Abbruzzese has been so awesome to us that he took time from working on his new album to send us all a message about SFA. Possibly, this is why he looks a little tired from all the work he’s been doing.

Searching for Abbruzzese couldn’t have gotten a better endorsement than from the man himself. We are heavy supporters of those “people doing what they believe in.” Thank you Dave for your unwavering kindness and support. This project is for you, it’s for your fans, it’s for music, and all the unsung heroes that still abound, working on their art and pushing it forward. – Thank you all for your contributions! We still have a little bit to go so please, share the campaign, donate, spread the word!”
